Fresh Pollen

Pollination! In order for a plant to reproduce it needs to transfer its seeds to other plants. Now the bees come into play. During a typical day in a bee’s life, multiple runs are made to collect nectar and pollen, essential for their survival, as they contain large quantities of sugars and proteins respectively.

Due to Crete's rich biodiversity, bee foraging collects pollen from a great variety of plants. To get an idea, Crete has more species and subspecies of plants (about 1800) than the whole of Britain (1450), despite the latter being 35 times larger. There are about 180 endemic species and subspecies in Crete, meaning that 9% of all its plants can only be found in the island of Crete.

By locating our apiaries in remote areas, untouched by human activities, every single grain of our organic pollen is free from pesticides. To achieve this we meticulously collect the grains brought back by our bees, making this a very challenging process.

These tiny colorful balls are a miracle of nature. Proteins, vitamins, minerals and other vital ingredients make our organic pollen the ideal companion for a healthy life. Enjoy a spoonful of fresh pollen everyday as is or add it to your freshly squeezed juice, your morning greek yoghurt or milk.
