Sage Honey
Sage is an aromatic evergreen shrub rich in essential oils. It’s name comes from the Latin word “salvare” which means “rescue”.
It is widely used as a flavoring ingredient in cooking. It is also used as a tea substitute, making for an excellent hot drink. Sage’s name shows how important of an ingredient it is in medicine, especially as a decoction to beat a cold.
Blooming period is in spring coinciding with aromatic plants like Satureja Thrymba, oregano, etc and other indigenous plants of Crete such as Ebenus Cretica.
Therefore a unique honey is created from rare herbs and plants with sage in a leading role. It is light in color, whitish, yellow with a delicate aroma and a strong final taste.
It crystallizes relatively quickly.
